Another good episode last night. i don’t have time for a lot of comments last night, but obviously the biggest thing revealed was that the plane was found and there were no survivors. I presume this means that they found bodies. creepy.

So was ‘Jacob’ in charge of it? Are they in a different ‘time’? So many questions!

Jin jumping patch the pirate was awesome.
It looks like Julliette may be pure of heart, but is doing what Benry asks to get off the island.

We saw a side of Sun we haven’t seen before! I had odds on the blackmailer being Jin’s mother pretty early into the episode. I appreciated the irony of Jin being “ashamed” of his father, who was IN TRUTH a father to be proud of…. while it is really Sun who should be “ashamed” of HER father. It’s amazing what money can do to twist the idea of “shame”, isn’t it? Now the question is left hanging about WHO the real father of Jin might be! That might turn out to be significant…or it could just be a way of showing what a loving “father” Jin really has.

Mikhail!! Who saw THAT coming? Not me! At first I thought he must have a twin, until I considered the odds of BOTH of them having patches over one eye. Maybe the fence didn’t kill him…but I bet it hurt a lot! Now we know why he said, “Thank you” and seemed eager to go into the fence. What a way out! Is the lady he shot still alive? Will Mikhail and the French lady team up…oooh, that’s not a pretty scenario.

Languages…languages: Thanks to TV subtitles, we can find out what “Naomi”, the parachutist, was really saying when Mikhail translated her as saying, “Thank you.” [We ALL knew she WASN'T saying that!]. She said, “I’m not alone”. That’s intriguing? Is Penny on the island?

Those were really great scenes between Sun and Juliet. Sun’s right – she looses both ways. I can’t figure out the reason that she would have been OK if she had gotten pregnant off-island. Didn’t they say they “saved” Claire? We’ll have to ask our resident Reproductive Physiologist if there’s any reason someone’s immune system would attack a pregnancy created on the island, but not one created off the island. Sounds a tad “unscientific” to me. ;)

So do we trust Juliet? Will her hatred of Ben make her eventually “side” with the Losties? Will she fall in love with Jack? I don’t know. She seems a little “self sufficient” and “self-focused” to me, except when it comes to her sister. And that info about getting a sample from Kate. Did they impregnate Kate when they had her in custody [remember when they put her in the cage we were wondering how much time had gone by and what they had done to her, because of her chaffed wrists?] Or are they just counting on super-stud Sawyer to do their work for them?

So Oceanic Flt.815 crashed with no survivors. Possibilities –
    1. massive cover-up so no one would be looking for them and accidentally find the island [But how do you crash a plane and provide identifiable dead bodies?]

    2. They’re in a parallel universe – there’s TWO of each person [a la Star Trek "matter" and "anti-matter"...loooved those episodes!]

    3. They’re all dead. The producers have officially discounted that they’re in Purgatory. But they’d have to be in SOME dimension.

    Ideas?

    Favorite moment:
    “No one knows we’re here.”
    Hurley: “Oops.”

I laughed rather loud and long over that one…think I scared Dad for a minute there…

yeah, i let out a big laugh there too.

I’d like to point out a grammar error that my mother made: “she looses both ways.” What is she loosing?

What do they mean by “we found no survivors”? did they not find bodies or not. What would have happened if Jack returned? Makes me think that Ben never truly intended to get him back to the real world. Maybe off the island, but not back to his life.

Yes…so what happened to Walt and Michael?

No survivors – Did it crash into the ocean and sink?

Good catch…”lose”. Always have trouble with that one and desert/dessert. Those words make me pause.

hello fellow lost fans, i dunno about y’all but i still wanna know about the polar bears. :)

    Hey Ben…

Here’s my “box theory”. Benry told Locke that there was a box on the island that could basically give you “whatever you wish for”. My theory is that it has been THIS box that has brought familiar things and people to the island – the polar bear because Walt was reading about one in Hurley’s comic book, Jack’s father (because Jack was thinking about him), the horse because Kate thought of it, Hurley’s “imaginary” friend who only he saw, Mr. Eko’s brother, Locke’s father [who looked REALLY surprised to be there!]. If that is true, then the unanswered question concerns WHO wanted Locke’s father to be there? Ben? Locke? Or Sawyer? [We're pretty sure Locke's father will turn out to be the "real" Sawyer.] And I’m guessing that “the box” is a product of the island itself. The “smoke” can read people’s minds and “the box” reacts to that.

And do these “wish” manifestations last? There are STILL polar bears on the island. Is Kate’s horse still walking around somewhere on the island? Jack’s Dad? Is the presence of Locke’s Dad on the island “lasting”or “temporary”?

There’s much to digest in this episode! Wow!

Personally, I espouse the cover-up theory. It’s easy enough, if you assume Dharma has nearly unlimited money, to outfit a look-alike aircraft, including filling it with the recently deceased. But would it fool the FAA, or its Australian equivalent. (For that matter, we’d actually need to know where the crash occurred and where Oceanic was headquartered – in many places one could slip a few bills to the right people, and wouldn’t even need to resort to complicated trickery–just because it couldn’t be done in the US, doesn’t mean the rest of the world works that way.) But still, the idea that no one was going to be looking for them is mind-blowing.

You’d think the “others” would learn: Don’t become pregnant on the island. If they really want to conceive, they could take a little reproductive vacation, then return …

I was theorizing that a massively heightened immune/healing system would lead to an unborn child being attacked as foreign by the mother before it was born. In that case, though, a child conceived off the island, but not far enough along in development, would still be in danger, but Claire was so close to delivery she would have been off the hook. Of course, in that case, Claire didn’t need to be kidnapped and treated. But, if this holds up, one wonders why immunosuppressants could not be used to prevent harm.

And, the Jin/Sun relationship is one that keeps me continually surprised. I was shocked that it was Sun who got Jin employed by her father. She’s really turning out to be the “bad one” in that pair, exactly the opposite of how the picture was originally painted (which was absolutely brilliant writing). She could have used the threat of harm to get rid of Jin’s mother without paying the $100,000.

whoa!! first off…BENNY!! ok, now that I said that! We didn’t catch the whole episode. We couldn’t just get up from our dinner with friends and say sorry nice to see you but lost is on! OK…maybe we could have but it would have been rude! I was glad to know that they do have reception at the little place we stayed last week! I was a little shocked to see Mikhail, I guess missing the first half hour I missed a lot and I will get it to watch *hint hint*!

I say it is a parallel universe. and they are all in another realm and they need to figure how to get back there. Really could they cause a plane to crash and cover it as if it was real crash and find that many bodies to put in the plane? Dental records would show that they are the wrong people. oooh, unless they have thier own “investigators” hmmm…that would make sense. .

When they kidnapped Kate they had to do something to her to get her pregnant. and she knows it and is trying to cover their tracks. I don’t think she is trying to help them I think that she feels a little more in control of the situation if she can say “it’s Sawyers”.

So, the question is really….is Penny on the island?? or did Naomi bring more trouble with her?

that’s all until I can watch the whole episode! :)
