Lost- Episode 4.9- “The Shape of Things to Come”- Ben-centric
For those of you who don’t know, I’m a big fan of Lost. There has never been a show that has mixed viewer participation and theories quite like Lost has done. Whenever there is a new episode, I write a small post and we talk about the episode. We share favorite lines and crack pot theories. So feel free to leave your own comment!
Lost is back with a bang!!! Wow, what an episode that was! What did you think? I thought it was the best of the season with all of the human drama that they have done so well. But I won’t share all of my thoughts since that apparently discourages people to post their own thoughts.
So what did you think? Any thoughts on this episode?

ok sooo. here is what i think.
it was a great episode. We found out why and How Sayid began working for Ben.
I was wondering about the smoke thing…. it had been a while since we had seen it, but we also learned one of two things, Ben either knows how to control the Monster, or…. he knows the people that control the monster, either way that was the best that we had ever seen of the smoke. ……..AND PEOPLE SAY SMOKING ISN”T THAT BAD…………they should use that smoke thing in their TRUTH comercials……. anyways, i guess we found out a couple new things as well, Ben did not expect the Mercinary guy to kill his daughter, and in her death he uttered the words “They changed The rules”…..hmmmmmmm what are the rules? Is it that Charles and Ben had a rule that they could not kill each other, or their family????? crazy stuff.
It also seems that Charles owned the island and at one point lost it and now cannot find it….. so now Ben is on the Hunt for Penny and Charles is on the hunt for the Island.
And on Top of it all….. Why is Hurley the only one that is able to find the Cabin of Jacob…. i am excited to see where they take us from here!

My mom and I now saw our first LOST episode. She thought the panda thing was funny.

Intense! I don’t like the child endangerment, death of a child, crying baby in the midst of danger themes.
It was good though- the playing Life game scene was hilarious.
Loved the smoke train.
Did Charles run Dharma and now wants the island back. Ben was sent to the island to get rid of Dharma? Obviously Charles wants to exploit the island, and Ben wants to “save” it.
It’s interesting that Dharma had the fence to keep the smoke out, but Ben can use the bat phone to call it up (once the fence is down).
In the past who has the smoke attacked vs. who did it respect? It respects Locke- while it would attack some of the Losties.
Jack’s “stomach bug” has to be related to the island or time travel or something.

Jack has appendicitis…which I bet will somehow get them a ticket home.Maybe Ben sends them through time to somewhere and THAT’S how they end up getting home. It doesn’t seem likely it will be on the ship.
It appears Widmore owned Dharma. Ben was just a kid when he went there…then got hooked up with Richard and killed all the Dharma people, right?
Ben shows up in 1995, right? When did the plane crash?
I bet Ben killed Nadia in order to get Sayid to do his dirty work. Did you see that little smirk on Ben’s face after Sayid insisted he wanted to join Ben?
I thought they were playing Risk.
I was thinking about how much Sawyer’s character has changed, that he would risk his life for Claire. You gotta love that Sawyer “glare” when he didn’t want Hurley to stay behind.
Maybe the rules are set up by Jacob…maybe that’s why Widmore and Ben can’t kill each other.
Why did the doctor have his throat cut?

Michael probably cut the Dr.’s throat- he was sent there by Ben to ruin their mission- the Dr. would be a good place to start.
Yeah- nobody else seemed overly concerned about Claire- except Sawyer- I guess that’s a big difference.
