Lost- Season 5.5- This Place is Death
Here were some thoughts from tonights episode:
- Sun said she made her daughter a new friend, as if she was planning on taking Aaron. I dn’t think there was anything to it, but still, it was weird.
- Charlotte gave out quite a bit of info- she grew up on the island (confirmed), she knew about the well (how, did she really?), she spoke to Faraday. Does she die and Faraday tells her not to return in a flash into the future so she could live? (this was written before she died, as I was watching the episode)
- Ben lost his temper a little, and has apparently been pulling strings for some time. What did he mean about protecting them?
- Danielle’s people went crazy being possessed by the monster? The guy said that the monster only protected the Temple (which I believe was the first we had heard of that). I don’t believe that’s accurate. Was the monster possessing people to extend its area of defense? And did anyone notice the music box that Sayid fixed for Danielle?
- Locke was supposed to move the island! How would have things been different had Ben not moved the island. Interesting that Locke is so committed to what he isn’t completely factually sure about that he’s willing to ’sacrifice’ his life.
- Jacob/Christian said to say hello to his son. I know we have been theorizing whether Jacob just used Christian’s body. So does Christian=Jacob?
- Faraday’s mother is Eloise Hawkings. That confirms that.
- They can bring some back at one time, and not the rest? Hawkings said Jack and Sun would do for now. What does that mean?

Tough call for Sun – her husband or her daughter. I don’t think she planned to take Aaron, I think she was just telling her daughter she’d found a new friend for her. She and Kate had been talking about the two kids playing together.
Goodness, how will they convince Kate now? Poor Jack… Kate’s REALLY mad at him now.
Yeah, I don’t understand how just a few is enough either. They have been saying all along that it has to be all of them. And it looks like they are including Desmond!
I’m thinking that Charlotte’s father is the Asian scientist – that maybe SHE was the baby crying in the background on that video.
It was interesting that Christian couldn’t help Locke. They haven’t actually touched. I’m thinking the smoke monster is using Christian just the way he used the French scientists…. which doesn’t bode well for Claire! That wasn’t the real Claire we saw in the cabin.

interesting how Jack always seems to make some headway with Kate and then, by doing the “right thing”, pushes her way away.hhmmm I feel bad for him.
do you mean the baby that was in the bed with the Asian scientist and his Asian wife? where did Charlotte come from.how come she knew Korean?

also I can’t remember the blond haired female fertilitty doctor’s name right now. but I am still suspicious of her. I dunno. something about her rubs me the wrong way. (Juliet)
also, remember one time in a flash back we learned that Hurley knew his girlfriend from the hospital? now she is dead (at least at the current” time”. we never know why they knew each other.
we never did find out how come they are all inter-related. I hope that part of the story line doesn’t get dropped.

I’m thinking Charlotte knew Korean because she was the daughter of the Dharma scientist in the videos, who may be Korean, and an anglo mother. [I was referring to the link Tim had.] The only glitch to that theory is that she doesn’t look the least bit Asian. [Favorite line in this episode, "He's Korean, I'm from Encino." ]
Laurie, this season’s ads on the Internet full episodes have been stressing their unknown interrelatedness, so I think that will be explained at some point.
