That has to be one of my favorite episodes ever! So many great lines in this one. Great to have Lepides back, too. And I like that they mixed some things in like the old episodes. They filled in more of the story, but left gaps that leave us wondering what happened. How did Ben get hurt? What happened to convince everyone else to get on the plane? What happened to Aaron? What happened to Sun’s kid? What happened to Desmond? Are Sun, Ben, and Sayid on the island, too? Lepides? How did Jin end up with Dharma? Did the rest of the Losties get stuck in one time since Locke left and they just fit in with Dharma on the island? That would make sense with Faraday talking to Charlotte when he was little.

“I guess we’re not going to Guam.”

    “How can you read?”
    “My mother taught me.”

Ben’s Mom did die when he was born, but when he was a child he saw her in the jungle. Apparently she “traveled” to that time, though I’m not sure how you can travel AHEAD of your death. But I do remember he saw her on the island. I suppose it could have been the island replicating her. [I'm almost convinced Jack's Dad and Claire's bodies are being used by the smoke monster the same way the French scientists were... or else that's what they WANT you to think.]

Interesting how Jack HAD to read the letter from Locke. Also… there’s a “new guy” they spent considerable time making sure we noticed. First he was at the gate behind Jack… and then on the plane. Ben’s lack of concern for the other passengers on the plane highlighted his snake heart. Btw, I thought he wasn’t supposed to go back to the island?

I caught the Airline logo right away and yelped when they mentioned Frank was the pilot.

Is the woman accompanying Sayid an employee of Ben? Did Kate leave Aaron with his grandmother? Are they in the same time as the others? Maybe the others were zapped back in time and got stuck there.

Interesting info that the island has been moving all this time and that’s why no one could find it.

Why do you suppose they showed their return to the island twice? I can’t figure out why that would be so significant to take up that much airtime. Perhaps it was to get US moving back and forth in time?

I think they showed their arrival first to get the show going… it was actually kind of a slow episode- though quality.

Jack landed exactly like he did the first plane crash- he was far from the beach in the jungle.
Since Desmond didn’t go with them it isn’t perfect— so I think Locke, Sayid, and Ben are on the island- just in a different time. They have them back on except desmond- and to have it stop traveling through time they need it perfect- desmond will need to get on a boat and crash into the island again.

The analogies of Locke and Jesus are interesting. I love Ben’s line “everyone believes sooner or later.” AMEN! I bet Locke killed himself so Jack could bring back a dead body so they could all get back on the island. He was the sacrifice and he will come back to life.

I’m not sure what’s up with Kate and Sun leaving their kids- I’m sure we’ll find out eventually. Kate is such a sulky teenager. Now that Jack is into her she’s distant.

I have seen the woman with Sayid- she’s familiar, but I dont’ remember.

So does Aaron not need to return?

I was thinking Kate needs to practice self-control around men. She uses people.

It was neat how Jack was right back into “Mr. Rescuer” mode as soon as he was back on the island. The island makes him a better person.

What’s in Hurley’s guitar case? A guitar or something else?

that was a great episode, one of my favorites. It was slow though.

Jin working for dharma must mean it actually happened in the past right? why didn’t he remember that when he crashed on the island and lived there.maybe he just had no other clothes.

Beth, I was going to say the same thing about Kate, Her sulky teenage attitude is really getting old. “I love you, get away from me and love me from afar”. “don’t ever ask me that if you want a realtionship with me” bla bla bla, just answer the man already and tell him it hurts too much to keep talking about it, then don’t bring it up again.

why no crash this time. I think your right Deb, I think the way they landed this time must have some significance to show it 2 slow times.

I don’t think the amount of people on the flight matters as much as we think it did. because now you don’t have arron, or Micheal, or Walt, or any of the other losties who origionally crashed but then died or made it back alive. plus now we have all these new people on the plane who theorhetically also would have crashed. Or not crashed? I don’t yet see the significance of this actualy plane ride.

can’t wait to find out how Hurley and Sayid got there and what happened to Ben.

Deb I thought Faraday was talking to Charlotte when he was old?
I also thought it was intentional that Ben mentioned his mother teaching him to read. we will see about that. I don’t remember him seeing her on the island.
I just have to say again. Kate’s behavior is getting old.

and someone please tell me. did claire just dissapear into the woods, or did she die and have a body?
last I remember, she was mysteriouly lost in the woods. that in and of itself is irritating to me since we all know the Lostis would not ever go for that. They would send a search party of Sayid, Jack, Kate and sometimes Sawyer and they would all die before they would let her stay lost??? so what’s up? maybe I missed something.

do you thing the reason all the “others” knew all the Losties is because they actually knew them all before and didn’t just study their files?

When the mercenaries from the ship were on the island, the losties split up into 2 groups, remember? Some went with Locke to the houses of the Others and the rest stayed with Jack on the beach. Sawyer was originally with Locke, but then (thanks to Kate’s hot/cold nature), he decided to return to the beach. Sawyer, Claire & Aaron and Hurley were headed to the beach and had to sleep in the jungle one night. Jack & Claire’s Dad showed up and told Claire to come with him. She went, leaving Aaron behind. Sawyer looked around for her, but couldn’t find her. He had to get Aaron to the beach so someone could take care of him… then there was the attack by the mercenaries, so there wasn’t any other chance of looking for her. Then Locke saw her in the cabin with her & Jack’s Dad. Phew!

  9. lojo said,

thanks Deb. Now I do remember her going but I don’t remember seeing her i the cabin, Still though…don’t you think it is so out-of character for everyone else to just move on. Even if they had no chance to go looking for her. They would at least talk about needing to go look for her. No one ever talks about her. It doesn’t fit the charters of the losties to just think, “well, she’s gone, but now we are under attack and we have to go, let us also take her baby off the island without her consent and then not worry about what happened to her”Juliet isn’t even looking for her and she never left.

is anyone else still suspicious of Juliet?

You’re right, it was rather abrupt… but the mercenaries were going to kill everyone on the island, so it made sense to get Aaron off the island. I think the writer’s strike may have had an impact on that. They lost two or three (?) episodes because of the strike and had to condense info to get to where they wanted to be by the end of the season.
