Lost 5.8- Lefleur
Because we missed the episode last week, we didn’t get around to catching the episode replay this week. While there wasn’t a ton of action in last weeks episode, it was still very interesting and filled in a lot of holes and questions that we had.
Then this week’s episode was another GREAT one. It’s great to see Sawyer not only step up and take some positive leadership, but also use his gift to ‘con’ for good. It was also neat seeing Michelle from ‘24′. It’s neat to see Sawyer take a significant roll amongst the Dharma peoples, and almost act as a number two guy. I never figured Horace would be the leader of Dharma. And remember it was Horace who built the cabin that Jacob now calls home. Twill be interesting to see what happens to Horace.
What are your thoughts?

It was fun to see Sawyer as an upright guy. Well… almost. There was still a little surliness there whenever they woke him up in the middle of the night. And I think he and Juliet make a good couple. Kate can be too flighty. They would not bring out the best in each other.
You will all laugh that I just got this… but I had an “a-ha” moment after watching this week’s episode and seeing young Charlotte. The reason Locke isn’t dead on the island is because IT IS THE PAST. He isn’t dead in the 70’s. I’m not sure exactly what that means once the island catches up to 2009, but then maybe it never does. It keeps moving in time as part of it’s normal existence. They said that’s why no one can find it. It doesn’t have sharp swings like it did recently, but it does move in time.
So that brings me to Jack’s Dad… the reason HE was alive when they first crashed is because they crashed in the PAST, so he was still alive. That still leaves the question of how he appears to Jack off island. When Locke fell down the well and broke his leg and asked Christian to help him up, Christian replied he couldn’t help him. I assumed it was because he didn’t have substance.. wasn’t real.. was just the island taking his form. But maybe it was because Locke was supposed to do it all on his own. As soon as Locke left the island, the sharp swings stopped. Apparently they wouldn’t have happened at all if Locke had been the one to move the island, instead of Ben.
The BIG problem I can see in the future is when Ben kills all the Dharma people. What will happen to the Losties if they are still among them? Maybe they will join “the Others” before that happens. My other question is …what happened that made women not able to bear children on the island? It’s clear that wasn’t always the case.
Oh fun…. this season is one where you can’t miss a single episode. They all have significant info. I love it!

I just had another “a-ha” moment looking at a pic of the back of the 4 toed statue. That’s absolutely an Egyptian statue… and the necklace Amy took from her husband is an ankh, the Egyptian symbol for life, AND…. (drum role please)… Richard Alpert wear eye liner! He’s Egyptian!! He’s Ancient Egyptian! That’s why he wears eyeliner. And “Horace” is a respelling of “Horus”, the son of Isis and Osiris.. stop me… stop me…

…oh yeah… don’t forget the hieroglyphs in the hatch when they didn’t push the button after 108 minutes.

ooohhh- nice mom- people have been there as long as the egyptians- or that’s where the egyptians came from.. don’t know about the death theory though.
The island certainly does bring out the best in Sawyer. It was also good to see the actor do something different than his normal schtick. Sawyer and Julliete should stay together.
This is certainly the best season yet.
