Lost: 5.9- Namaste

Another great episode. Here’s one thought:
Why didn’t Sun go with the rest of them? Here’s my only theory: She didn’t come like she did the first time, with child. I know Juliet told her she was pregnant on the island, but she could have lied. What would telling the truth gained in that situation. It would only have been destructive to their relationship. So she made the call to preserve their relationship, knowing it wouldn’t matter. So Sun didn’t come with her daughter, like she would have the first time in utero. thoughts?

Dad and I were also discussing why Sun didn’t go with the other Losties. They were plucked right out of the airplane and transported backwards in time. It does seem obvious that Sun was purposely NOT chosen to accompany them. My theory is that the island does not want her presence in that time period. Perhaps her “issues” with Ben, her murderous bent, her desire for vengeance, her collaboration with Charles Widmore have all revealed her “real” personality and rendered her unusable for the island’s purposes… at least in that time period. She will be given the chance to redeem herself in present time [and we know "redemption" is a main theme of the show]. I find that to be rather unexpected. When we first met the Losties, we believed she was a sweet, innocent woman. We now know differently. In her own way she is her father’s child. But one person we initially loathed, Sawyer, is now the preferred leaders! [Btw, where are Bernard and Rose?] I loved the scene where Sawyer pointed out his superior leadership skills to Jack. Jack’s pitiful, “But I got us off the island.” was rather comic!
The island is definitely in control, as we see in Christian’s appearance last night. It is doing exactly what it wants to do, no matter what the machinations of men may be. Which brings me to Ben. He still seems to have a plan. Any ideas?

Yeah, I like how Sawyer lays down the law with Jack, but in the end Jack seems relieved not to be the leader.
So.. in the future Dharma is still destroyed? What are the losts purpose for being on the island- take down Dharma in order to protect the island?
Great episode.
